HEAD COACH
Nathan Judd-Warren is from Toronto, ON. He played minor hockey with the Don Mills Flyers and Toronto East Enders, junior hockey with teams like the Cobourg Cougars and Pickering Panthers, and spent 4 seasons playing professionally in the U.S. As a coach, he is in his 6th season and has previously coached the Scarborough Young Bruins and Goulding Park Rangers. His coaching record is 204 wins, 59 losses, and 37 ties. Nathan has won the Hockey Life Cup, finished in the top 3 in provincial rankings twice, and won 15 tournaments. He has also taken teams to 3 Silver Stick International events. Nathan has helped over 20 players move from AA to AAA and focuses on discipline, structure, and passion in his coaching.
Skills Coach
Tatiana Rafter is a Skills Coach with a strong background in hockey. She played for the UBC Thunderbirds, where she was named Canada West Player of the Year and was the top scorer in 2013 and 2015. She also won a gold medal with the Canadian Women’s Ice Hockey Team at the 2013 Winter Universiade. Tatiana has been a head coach for U15 AAA Central Plains and U18 AAA Interlake Lightning and is now focused on player development with the Lady Spartans in their first FSL season. With over 18 years in hockey development, she has experience as a professional athlete and coach. She teaches Glide Skate in Winnipeg and also works as an agent for athletes in Minnesota and Manitoba. Tatiana’s accolades include being a top goal scorer at UBC, winning the NWHL Championship in 2015, and being a Russian All-Star Champion in 2019.

Michelle Braithwaite is the Founder and Owner of Big Mama’s House of Pain (BMHOP) in Winnipeg, MB, with over 10 years in the fitness industry. She lost 141 lbs through a HIIT workout program and has a background as a former Coach and Sales Manager. Michelle’s BMHOP has received multiple awards, including Platinum for Best Personal Trainer and Gold for Best Gym in 2022 and 2023, and Best Gym & Personal Trainer in 2024. As a proud mother of two and lifelong athlete, Michelle is also active in community volunteering, charity events, and slow pitch. She overcame significant health challenges, including Grand Mal Seizures and severe weight gain, transforming her health and career through fitness and coaching.
Coach, Winnipeg Lady Spartans
Corey Strachan is a Coach of the Winnipeg Lady Spartans and played hockey from Gimli minor league through AAA Midget, Jr. A with the Selkirk Steelers, and NCAA D1 with the Alaska Anchorage Seawolves, earning multiple awards including MVP and top goaltender. After retiring, he became a hockey instructor and coach for 15 years. He has also pursued a career in aviation, flying for Calm Air for 17 years. He remains active in hockey, lives in Gimli, and has three children.

Jeff Rotinsky is an Assistant Coach for the Winnipeg Lady Spartans and is from Winnipeg, MB. With 35 years in hockey, Jeff has extensive coaching experience, including 8+ years as an Assistant and Head Coach with River East Minor Hockey Association. He has also worked as a Development Coach for Blades of Steel Hockey and will be the Head Coach for the Manitoba Blades (U13 Female Spring Hockey) and Assistant Coach for the Blades of Steel Kings (2013 boys spring) in 2024. Jeff focuses on skill development, team culture, hard work, discipline, and sportsmanship, aiming to help players excel both on and off the ice.

The Female Super League (FSL) is a newly launched league dedicated to elevating female youth hockey. The inaugural season will began in September 2024 and run through March 2025.
The FSL will feature teams in the 12U and 14U divisions. The Lady Spartans AAA Elite Hockey Program will offer a 14U program based out of Seven Oaks Arena in Winnipeg.
The program provides over 100 hours of on-ice development, 2 hours of dryland/injury prevention training per week, 35 showcase games, and 4 hours of video review per week. These resources ensure comprehensive training for our athletes.
The Lady Spartans is the only program in Manitoba offering a combination of 5 ice practices per week, dryland and video review sessions, and the only league in Canada (FSL) that allows progressive body contact at the 14U level.
Each player has a profile accessible through the program’s website, including bio, stats, and contact information, making them more visible and accessible to university and college coaches and recruiters worldwide.
